Hey all. I recently had a black out. I was on my computer when the power went out which lasted about 5 mins then the power went out again for about 2 hours. I switch on my computer after the 2nd balckout and it worked fine. I then switched it back off and left it for about an hour and then i tried to switch ot back on and it wouldnt start. When i turn the power on the computer has long beeps then pauses and the dvd continuosly flashes and when i try to eject (no disc in drive) it automatically closes. The fan works and the computer sounds like it is starting up like normal apart from the beeps. I read on these forums that beeps can tell you what problem your pc has but my beeps are random everytime i switch on the computer. It will be for example 4 long beeps - pause- 3 long beeps - pause - 9 long- pause- 6 long- pause- then never ending and after i switch it off then on again it just continuously had long beeps without pause. Anyone recognise this problem, i think the blackout is the culprit may have skrewed it up but it worked after the black out so i dont know. thx for any help.

hey dont worry i fixed it. turned out a miniscuel peice of dust lodged in the ram socket was causing this problem.
