Well first i would like to thank you for going out your way to help me. Secondly excuse me if the following question might sound stupid but what did you mean by "Most manufacturer's will have error codes on the DOS version and most will honor those codes as to a replacement drive."? Can you be alittle more specific ? It kinda late and im pretty clumsy when it comes to computer stuff.
If there is a drive error there will be an error code.
This error code will be reproduced by the manufacturer if the drive is returned.
If your drive is under warranty most manufacturers will gladly send you a new hard drive.

Thanks for the thanks! No problem.
:: Slaps 4head:: I wish i had a warranty for my HD. I've had my HD for about 3 yrs now so thats out of the question lol
.* "Defective drive" and "Corrupted format" errors (sometimes called 03/31 errors) can often be repaired with a data-destructive zero fill data pattern or a low level format. Current disk drives contain thousands of spare sectors which are automatically reallocated if the drive senses difficulty reading or writing. Since SeaTools is read-only (data safe), occasionally a problem sector that has not reallocated to a spare sector can be forced to do so by writing to that sector. Spare sector reallocation is a normal intelligent drive operation.
Ahh.. GREAT NEWS !!!.. i got curious and got on the site to see if my warranty was really over and quess what? ITS NOT !!! lol.... I can return it for an Exchange.
