when i enter password to start up my labtop its says setup warning invalid password [continue] i push continue and it returns to enter password

Is this a BIOS password or Windows?

Sorry to hijack this thread but I remember a while back I was given an old PC and it had a BIOS password and I could not install a fresh copy of a OS. Is there anyway of reseting the password to the BIOS?

Some older boards have a password clear jumper or switch.

On new ones: clear the CMOS.
