Mouse Problems
Okay, so I've just started getting a problem where my mouse will be working fine and periodically the cursor speed will suddenly drop to the minimum possible. My thoughts are that it's a hacker screwing around with me, but the time intervals between when it suddenly goes slow is fairly consistent. Also, to fix the problem I just made my way to Mouse settings (Which takes hella long with mouse on low-Used keyboard to help speed it up) and clicked the mouse settings and it suddenly jumped back to normal. Then after a while the same thing happens...I'll try and record a video of whats happening.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks, Ted
So I did record a video, but how can I upload it for people to see?

I've scanned computer with AVG Free edition and it was fine, and I'm not in the progress of scanning with Spybot Search & destroy...

Okay so I've tried evertything I can think of and the problem keeps on going, so I think at this point UNLESS someone is willing to acknowledge my existence, I'm just gonna reformat my computer...

Hi Ted, responses in hardware forums typically take up to 24 hours as it's a free community support area where general members of the public will help if they have any useful suggestions, rather than a helpdesk situation where there is a paid team on standby.
It is unusual for mice to slow down periodically. I am wondering whether actually the whole computer is slowing down during those times and that the mouse is actually working OK but the system is not updating the screen quickly. You were talking about how you had to go into Control Panel and you decided to use the keyboard as well as the mouse. Was the keyboard as responsive as normal at displaying / selecting items? Or did that seem to be going slow as well?
Another way to check if the system is running slow because it is busy doing something at the times that the mouse goes slow is to run Task Manager. You can do this by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del. Select Task Manager and minimise it so that it's running in the background. The system tray area down by the clock will show a new green meter that displays your processor usage. Keep an eye on that and, when the mouse goes slow, see if that meter is reporting lots of processor usage. Also, check the front of your PC for the hard disk activity light. If the hard disk is suddenly very busy, the LED (usually red or amber) will start flickering on a lot. Both of these indicators suggest that your computer is busy doing something periodically - perhaps something that it shouldn't be.

Actually it runs as choppy as it always does lol ... but yea the keyboard select items at a normal speed where as the mouse just decide to really move slow and only moves fast when I select the setting in control panel. The funny thing is, when I open up the Cursor speed option, it's already on fast and I just click it and it moves fast again.
As for getting hasty, sorry about that. Just worried that if it doesn't get better soon it will only get worse.

Okay, so I told my friend about the problems I was having and he sent me Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 or whatever it's called and that seems to have fixed the problem.
