    i tried connecting a working PATA hdd to my system to see if it would still freeze and i tried numerous power connectors and they didnt supply any power to the hdd. hopefully that explains it the problem...

    Huh? You connected another drive this PSU (the 2nd PSU) and there is no power? That would be a different problem than freezing after 45 minutes.

    no i tried a working HDD on the whole system with the original PSU. the extra PSU molex connectors werent working. the hdd never turned on

    ..and it still froze. Now with the original power supply another hard disk isn't working.

    Did you try this "new" hard disk with that "other" power supply?

    Be careful on too many variables being introduced into the equation. Once a component is verified as good, stick with it.

    i forgot that i tried using another PSU heh. I reinstalled the OS and everything seems fine.
