Shutdown on Windows Load screen
Alright, I have had this problem only for the past couple weeks but it is bothering me.
This all started when I moved into a new place. Hooked everything up turned it on and it would go to the windows loading screen then after a bit just shut off. Mess with it a few times and it would boot just fine. Didnt shut it off and there were no problems, as soon as I shut it off it would have troubles at the load screen. Finally it just got to the point where I cannot even get past the load screen at all. Took out all memory, gfx card, sound card, hdd, dvd drive, etc. re-installed to make sure it was all in there right and tight and no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to D-A-L
does it boot into safe mode OK?
(Press F8 when booting)
-
Thanks
Yes it does. No problems going into safe mode
-
how many processes are running?
before you moved was everything OK?
as you say your PSU is not very powerful if you remove 1 stick of RAM is it any better?
it may be some programme that's starting at load up.
have a look Here and then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware section. (Not here please). with a brief explanation of what the symptoms are
-
I believe when it was running it was around 42 processes. In safe mode its 9
Everything was good before the move
Taking out 1 stick of RAM doesn't do anything, tried both
Will try the spyware/adware and see what pops up.
Ok, went to boot into safe mode again and went to Safe mode with networking and it shut off booting that up. Regular safe mode and with command prompt it works just fine

Figured out the problem after a few hours. It is my onboard ethernet controller. If it trys to boot or even load the drivers it shuts off my comp. Computer runs great as long as I dont use it. Just gonna have to get a different ethernet contoller.
-
did you put the latest drivers when you updated?
can you remove the drivers and reload from your motherboard disc?
-
Yeah, I removed the old drivers and installed from the motherboard disk first. While installing it crashed my comp. I then got the new drivers and it failed too. Any drivers I try it shuts my comp down after it gets a little ways to installing them. Tried installing through the disk, then new hardware pop up, and finally went into device manager to see if it would work but to no avail.

I've had problems where the Ethernet would cause all sorts of hassle in the end got an Ethernet card about £5.00 (10 US$ ) put that in and no more problems

Yeah, its never happened to me before but oh well, first time for everything. Thank you for the help
