    Harddisk doesnt work properly

I have a 2 harddisk of the same type both same size too. I can see my d: in my computer. but I can't format d:. When I copy something it says rite dely failed something and cannot be saved properly something like that. I tried deleting the volume and recreating it in my computer manager. but it doesn't work either. Then I tried formatting computer thinking that I could remove d: from setup menu recreate it. But my d: doesn't show up at the setup menu. Plz help

Here is a general Google re: Delayed Write Failure

Are these SATA drives or IDE?

Windows arbitrarily assigns drive letters other than A: (floppy) C: (system)

Additional hardrives can come up as anything. D and E are often given to DVD/CD drives leaving F; G; H; I; etc. for additional drives.

Have you run the manufacturers diagnostic on the hard drive?

You can also try to format it outside of Windows with GParted
