Is this a new computer? An old one? Has it ever worked before?

We bought the computer about a year ago brand new, had never opened the inside til we thought it was the graphics card. Used it pretty well for the last year only problem was the power pack for the lcd screen, so we used another monitor until we replaced the lcd screen. Also no one knows what happened the last time it was used got the lcd power pack but the computer got this current problem before we were able to use the lcd screen again.

Just to clarify: you are saying that two different monitors will not work?

You get no green light on the monitor briefly followed by the message "No Signal Input" before returning to amber?

If you get no beeps and no brief screen of "No Signal Input" then I'd suspect your monitor; its' cable or transformer; or the graphics card.

If there were a hardware problem removed from these you would at least get the brief "No Signal Input".

Hi there, well i get the no signal input sorry but only briefly like for 2-4 seconds then it turns off. I replaced the graphics card because thats what i originally thought the problem was. I have read alot of other threads i think im up to page 50 lol another 68 pages to go under general hardware issues. I managed to download the motherboard manual and i did the battery remove and pin thingo to no avail. Also on another thread it said to clean the fans so i did that. Another thing im a little confused about is on alot of posts its saying to remove all the parts and just leave the motherboard? Would this apply to me(And whats the definition of everything) Thanks for any help

also, in case this means anything, the computer after being switched on will not switch off unless turned off from the wall. Any ideas??

Usually when the computer starts normally there will be one BEEP between the BIOS and the Operating System to say OK.

Do you recall hearing this when all was well? In other words we wonder if your motherboard/case speaker is working?

If it is and you are comfortable working inside remove all the RAM sticks then try to boot. If your motherboard/case speaker is working you should hear BEEPS till the end of time.

If not then either the speaker is not working or your motherboard has serious issues. This is a first general test to determine whether this is the case.

Does it have a ReSet button?

A tiny button under the main on/off?

    If so does that work?
