Seeing as I didn't get a response to my problem. (In another posting) I've decided to reinstall Windows XP. Could someone please tell me the correct way to do this? Do I have to reformat my disc first? I have a Dell Computer; do they usually give you discs for all the programs that were initially installed when you bought the computer? Thanks for any help.

Insert your model number and look for Recovery and How to Reinstall XP

Depending on your model they either sent disks or put everything on a recovery partition.

The recovery program will do all formatting etc.

The guide will take you through backup options as well.
