Video Refresh issue

Video Refresh issue
Hi
I have inherited a computer that i am sorting out, little better than my present one. I have done a clean install with XP Home and it seems to be all OK except i cant set up the proper refresh rate, only option is the system default. I have checked in "Device Manager" and under "video controller (VGA compatible)" there does not seem to be any driver for it and i can't find a way of installing one. I installed in a nvidia M64/32MB video card which seemed to do the trick but the PC started crashing, taken it out and all OK again, but slow refresh again. The monitor that i am using is a NEC Mulitisync 1770NX.
The system info from Belarc:

I would guess that this is a pretty simple PC but is there anything that i could do to correct the refresh issue.
Many thanks

You would need the driver from ASUS if you use the motherboard VGA.
VGA
WinXP
Version 16.94.16 2003/09/09 update
Description VIA/S3G KM266 Graphics Driver V16.01.12 for Win2K/XP.
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us
Select Product > Motherboard > Select Series > SocketA(462) > Select Models > A7V266-MX > VGA > as above
Or if you try the card again you would need the nVidia driver for that card.

Hi Jephree,
Many thanks for that, absolutely spot on, it did the trick.
If i could ask a second question, To transfer info from my other PC would it be OK to take the hard drive out and install it as a slave drive in the new one and just drag to transfer over files etc. I am having start up problems with my old pc so am looking for an easy solution.
Thanks
Happy Groucher

Yes that is the standard method. Make sure you change the jumper to slave.
