When I press the start button nothing happens for approx 10 seconds I know it can be fixed but dont Know where to look in the control panel. windows XP 2edit

If the system starts after 10 seconds (after pushing and releasing the power button) and the machine is out of warranty, open the enclosure with the power OFF (but the power cord still attached for grounding purposes) and check all your power supply connections. Especially the "main connector block" going to the motherboard. (20 or 24 pin connector.) Be careful not to flex the motherboard by pushing down excessively on the connector.

If all seems to be in order you may have a capacitor going in your power supply. Power supplies are more easily replaced than repaired. ($$$)
