DVR to PC to DVD
Hi everybody!! I'm back with more upgrade questions (problems). I want to transfer some of my tv shows to my pc so I can burn a dvd of them and free up some space on my dvr. Looking at some Hauppauge products. Have dish network. Have a model that has dual tuners (625). I was thinking of running from tv2 output on the dvr to tv input on the hauppauge. I'm sure just buying a dvd recorder would probably be easier, but I would like to do some editing. Does anyone know of any conflict issues? Is there a better way to do what I want to do? Thanks ahead of time for any and all advice.

What you're suggesting should work fine. I don't know whether you still have a choice of analogue and digital television like we do here in the UK but you'll want to make sure that the Hauppauge TV tuner is a model designed to receive the right kind of signal from the DVR, which I guess would be digital regardless of the signal type that was used to get the TV programmes into the DVR.
If you opted to have TV output 2 from your dish going directly into the TV tuner in the PC, you could edit the broadcasts on the PC, subject to having the appropriate editing software. That would do away with the DVR and possibly keep it simpler. You'd obviously need a big hard disk in the PC though.
I consider myself to know relatively nothing about AV editing so I hope that that advice was accurate and useful!
