    Exclamation Is my Monitor bust?

i have a 17" flatscreen lcd/ tft monitor. when i turn it on it just shows a blank white screen with lines running across it, is it bust?

if so how much will it cost to fix it?

well it does sound like it's bust. as to repairs i have no idea but maybe you might want to just get a 19'' monitor eh? lol just a suggestion. anyways jephree or kazna or the mods will probably know more.

I would certainly try that monitor on another computer, or another monitor on your computer, just to eliminate the video card. Also, many monitors have detachable cords. I have had more than one person embarrassed when they brought their systems in, only to discover the connector on the back of the monitor was not tight.

What brand and model was that monitor and how old. Inverters do fry, but it is not that common. Did you take a power hit?

I strongly suggest you use an UPS if you are not already. What's great about LCDs vs. CRTs is that LCDs consume much less power, therefore, a decent UPS with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) (900 - 1000VA) can support your PC, all your network hardware, and your monitor with ease.
