    Overheating issue

    Hey everyone,

    I recently cleaned all the dust out of my computer and when I turned it back on and let it sit, the temperature raises to the 80degreeF area, the highest its gotten was 96 and I shut it off quickly. Every fan is working correctly. My computer always used to stay in the 60-low 70 range. Anyone have suggestions solutions? Possible power supply issue-dying?

    Thanks in advance

    If you are really talking about Fahrenheit temperatures then you must be in a nice Ice box.

    There are no heat issues until a unit/ processor is kicking high 60>70C

    which = 140 / 160 F.

    Well that is what the temp gauge is reading. I unplugged the computer and took the case side off and it felt pretty warm in there. I still think there is something heat wise wrong.

    Computers create heat.

    Monitors vary vastly in what they report.

    Opening the case is not always the best idea as most cases are designed for an air flow in a closed environment.

    Even with a liquid cooled system you would be 5 to 10 degrees above ambient.

    Anything less than this would be TEC cooling.

    I know computers create heat and that monitors vary but your missing my point. My computer is generating A LOT more heat than it used to. I also said I went to check it when it was OFF, yes I know its designed for airflow.

    I'd prefer another opinion/suggestion.

    It's likely that when you cleaned/dusted the components you also cleaned off the temp sensors and they are now giving you truer readings. As the other members have stated there is nothing abnormal with the readings you are now receiving.
