Just to verify: you moved a hard drive with XP on it onto a different motherboard?

If so you most likely will need to reinstall (at least Repair) XP. The basic drivers need to be shared between the drive to the motherboard and this is done during the installation process. In general you cannot hot-swap hard drives like that.

If they are USB devices and PS2 is available go to PS2.

Does the keyboard function in the BIOS Setup?

PS2 is an older type port for mouse and keyboard. Round and color coded purple (keyboard) & green (mouse). This setup predated USB keyboards and mice. The problem with USB is it needs the drivers that XP installs as it installs itself.

Most BIOS Setups are accessed by pressing the Delete key after you power on the computer. You might see a line on the bottom of the first screen that says Press Delete for Setup etc. Some HP/Compaq use F2.

Anyway as said previously you most likely need to run at least a Repair Install of XP from the boot CD.
