Hi, Have a problem with my DVD/CDROM. I can play CDR's and listen to music and view pictures but when i put in a DVD it comes up insert disc and doesn't read it. When i look under My Computer and try to open the E drive it is still coming up insert disc or not accessable. Is there anything i can do or is the DVD broken? I tried installing autoplay and looking into windows explorer but had no luck.

Yeah it does it with every DVD i tried DVD-RW DVD-R and an actual film DVD and won't play any of them. I haven't tried a lens cleaner, i have tried a DVD cleaner on the disc is this the same thing?

I really think the DVD is broken but i wouldn't think it would play music cd's, would it?

it may be, I think the DVD laser is seperate to the CD laser that's why it plays CD's

Hi, Tried a lens cleaner and still didn't work i am putting it down to a broken DVD player. I asked a man in a shop and he said the CD laser is different to the DVD laser.
