Help! My laptop turn itself off every 30 mins?
I have a sony Vaio notebook. I have this for about 3 years. The model is PCG-GRZ630. I use window xp on it. It started a few months ago that it will start turning itself off around every 30 mins. I have check the power set up and that has nothing to do with this. It was set as always on. I have take a look at the event log based on another thread I saw. Here is what I got.
Error
Source: Service Control Manager
Catagory: none
Event: 7000
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks a lot.

Here is what Microsoft says about Error ID 7000. Did you recently change any hardware? Is your battery good?

I have not install any hardware. But I ran the Adexo registry cleaner once and I might have deleted something that I should not have? I am not sure. I am not sure if the battery is good since the computer will turn itself off no matter I am plug in or not. Is there a way to test the battery?
Thanks for any help possible.

Can this laptop run without the battery - or does the battery always have to be inserted? If it can run on AC only, try that and see if it shuts down.
If you did the registry clean recently, and the problem started right after that, then you might use System Restore to restore the system back to before those changes. I am not familiar that registry cleaner - but I think you meant Abexo - it should have offered to backup the registry before making changes, always a necessary precaution. If you heeded that advice, you might try restoring those changes first - but only if the problem started after the clean.
Have you scanned for malware?
Make sure your battery is not one of the millions recalled by Sony. Check here.
3 years for a laptop battery is not a bad lifespan.
