I've just installed vista, and ever since i have had problems with my soundcard. It's a Soundmax ADI 1986a on a ASUS P5NSLI motherboard

I've got sound, but also a lot of static noice.
I've tried to install the drivers from ASUS, but the problem is still there.

Try going to start Run... dxdiag --> Sound

Here experiment with the audio acceleration level.

Tried to run DxDiag, but cannot change anything.

It says that the file ADIHdAud.sys is not digital signed, but that properly because the only driver I could find was a beta version.

goto ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- , then choose motherboards . then socket 775 . then P5PL2-E model . now download the new audio driver (v 6.1) for win 7 32-bit . install it on windows vista or win 7.
