Copy Hard disk
I have a 19gb and an 80gb hard disk. The 19 is really getting full and I would like to copy it to another 80 that I have. Will I need some type of software or can I just remove the 80 and replace it with the other one, copy to it then put the other 80 back in? If so, what is the procedure?
Thanks,
Robbie

what's on the 19Gb is it the system files or just photos etc?
do you have 2 x 80Gb hard drives?
-
It's the system files and yes I have 2 80gb drives.
-
with it having all the system files it may be easier to start a fresh on a clean hard drive.
have you got all the system discs?
-
Sorry I took so long to reply. Yes, I think I have all the system files. Ok, I would start with installing the system files on a clean drive then how do I copy the other data to the new drive?
Thanks for the help!

have you got room on the other drive in your PC?
how much data would you like to transfer, it may be easier put a clean 80Gb hard drive in as master, install the OS and all programmes you want then use the 19Gb as a slave and transfer data across

I was looking to transfer most of the data off the 19 because it is so full my system slows down and sometimes locks up.

if you install a clean 80GB hard drive,(set it as master) install the Operating System then install the 19GB as a slave drive and transfer all the data across.
with the 80GB hard drive it may be worth while partioning it up into 4 partions of about 20GB keep one partion for you OS and programme files the other partions for data eg music, photos, documents etc.
