I saw another thread about this but I have a few questions...

My computers sound isnt working, everything is plugged in and turned on... Instead I hear this "beeping" noise when I get a message ffrom the system, ect.

My Monitor Resolution is set to the lowest it can possibly be, Ive TRIED to change it in control panel and properties But it wont let me adjust it..

This monitor has worked in the past on this computer and on my old computer.

This is what I think is possibly going on, WHen I recieved the comp. It was filled with Spyware and Malware, viruses , and all you can possibly think of, The computer Is now clean, but I have'nt restored it. So could this spyware ect cause the problem

The reason I havnt done a system restore Is I'm so computer Iliterate that im afraid that if I restore it to a past date the viruses will come back? I really have no clue what this system restore thing REALLY is? I went into the restore and It had the calendar where I can pick a date to restore from, but it only goes back to jan.1 and The viruses where on the computer at this time. SO if I restore The comp to lets say Jan 1st will all the viruses come back?

sorry if this is confusing but I really need to fix the problem, and sorry if this is a stupid question...
