hi everybody
i've got a problem with my sound card right after i formated my pc. i downloaded all my drivers from the hp site and everything works fine except from my sound card, when i start installin it the pc reboots sayin it has recovered from a serious error.i believe its a comon problem with realtek sound cards. I've already downloaded a half dozen drivers in vain. please help. these r some details about this pc:

HP Compaq dc5100 SFF(EC960ET)

Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Is there an actual card, or is the sound on the motherboard? If on the motherboard, make sure the sound is enabled in the BIOS Setup Menu. If using an add-in card, make sure the on-board sound is disabled.

thanx for ur reply but how am i to know if there is an actual card or not? in the BIOS there is only "irq10" before the sound item...thx again.
