    Realtec RTL8187 ?!?!!??

I bought a Gateway MX6453 Notebook and so far it has been great. Today I was using the Realtec wireless adapter and it locked up. I reset the computer and now it will not connect to a wireless network. It shows available networks but it just will not connect.

I am getting a "No RTL8187" message when I move the cursor over the Realtec icon on the bottom of my screen and when I try to open it it will come up for a few seconds and then it closes by itself.

I am operating "Windows Media Center Home Edition"

    PLEASE HELP

    Thanks

Right-click 'My Computer', select Properties and then the Hardware tab. Go into Device Manager. Find the Realtek WLAN adaptor and delete it. Reboot the laptop. Windows should re-detect the Realtek WLAN adaptor and re-install it. It might ask for the installation disk.

Let us know if that fixes it

I looked into the device manager and there was no Realtek WLAN adaptor. I will make another post with the screenshot of the device manager list up.
