Question I Need To Add Another Hard Drive But....

    Hi everyone

My first post so here goes!

I have aquired a third internal hard drive for my computer and want to install this using an IDE cable.

As you know the cable provided in the computer will accept 4 components - this comprises of two IDE cables each with two connectors (my motherboard has two slots for these and no more)- I currently have two disc drives and two hard drives attached to the 4 connectors.

Now what I would like to know is can you purchase an IDE cable with more than two connectors?

Or an adaptor so that I can "piggy back" one of the cables or even utilise another part of the computer to link the third hard drive up?

Any advice would be useful as I am new to computer upgrading/building !

    Many thanks in anticipation!

    Bob

Why not put your third hard drive in an external caddy and connect through a USB cable. They are readilly available from computer shops. I run a hard drive and DVD RW in this manner. Good Luck.
