Hi, I am having problem with my Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop. I have replaced the HDD because of problems. I restarted the computer so that I could start installing my Windows 98 however the computer now says "Invalid System Disc" and will not do anything beyond that. I have already changed the boot sequence in the bios. Can you please help me?

What have you changed the boot sequence to? Are you trying to boot from the CDROM first? Is the Windows 98 CD inserted when you try to boot?

Boot sequence is CDROM/Floppy/HDD, and yes I already had my Windows 98 installer in the cdrom drive.

Did you see any option during the boot process to 'Press a key to boot from CDROM' or something similar? Or did you get an option such as 'Press F12 for boot menu'? Is your CD a genuine original Microsoft bootable CD?

I don't see any option like 'Press any key to boot from cdrom', it only say 'Invalid System Disk'. I tried it on my other pc no problem (Windows installer). Yes sir it's a genuine original Microsoft Bootable Cd. Do I have any other option? Is my lappy defective already? Btw, cdrom drive is brand new...
