Are you using this computer? Sorry if I missed that point.
If so try this software: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
What is listed under Mainboard > Motherboard > Make & Model
Personal computers contain a small amount of battery-powered CMOS memory to hold the date, time, and system setup parameters.
Setting these to default is a diagnostic step with issues such as yours'.
Okay,Jephree. However at this given moment in time my hard drive resides next to me in a ziplock bag. Also,
unlike you I tend to value sleep. SO I will take care of this first thing in the morning, download the provided software and then post back the results!
After your mention of CMOS I've got a big headache of trying to look it up on Google's wikkipedia, so adieu! (my attempt at french?)![]()
au revoir![]()
You will most likely find the manual on the manufacturers web site and there will most likely be in the index something on Clearing the CMOS.

Motherboard:
Manufacturer: DFI Inc.
Model: Infinity 975X
Neat lil program.
Update: After Clearing CMOS I tried booting up the PC with the Windows XP CD inside. The CD was bypassed so I shut down, and entered the BIOS upon startup, changing the bootup sequence to CD first. My Computer reset it self with the new settings and during bootup, took a dump on me before loading windows XP (Verifying DMI Pool something or anothing maybe was the last step before the rude shut down.)
