    Unusual Problem

I have an AMD based dual booting PC(Windows XP and Windows Server 2003). The problem was noticed when games were played (Windows XP) on the pc, the PC would automatically boot with no display, the monitor's LED would keep on blinking, HDD LED would glow continuously for an indefinite period. The only way the system could be shut down would be to turn the power off at the source (UPS). The problem would persist even if the system were to be rebooted.
I have found a temporary solution to the problem, I open the cabinet, make sure that all connections to various components are secure and turn the system back on. It boots properly.

System specifications are as follows -

    Processor - AMD Athlon 64 - 2800+
    Motherboard - Jetway - K8M8MSR2-VC
    RAM - 1GB (2 * 512 MB)
    HDD - Seagate SATA - 80 GB
    DVD ROM Drive - Sony
    DVD Writer - ASUS
Graphic Card - ASUS K9250 256 MB DDR RAM (ATI chipset)

The following have been checked systematically -

    1. Both RAM Modules have been checked.
    2. DIMMs have been checked.
    3. Graphic card has been checked (graphic card was removed and the monitor was connected to the on board graphics slot - the problem still persisted).

    Please help.

Does this only happen when you boot to XP but not when you boot to Server 2003? If so, see if there's a graphics driver update that you could install on the XP partition.

Opps ! Sorry, forgot to mention this, I face the same problem when I boot into Windows 2003 Server.
