No sound
I need help. I reinstalled Windows XP on my HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop and now I have no sound. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works. It says my device is not configured correctly in the register or I need the cd "Conexant AMC 3D Enviromental Audio Driver". I've downloaded all the updates from HP and Windows but still no sound. I tried the driver recovery cd that came with the computer but no sound. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I just noticed that that "Download" link didn't work but the attachment does in case you didn't notice:

From what I see although that driver is specified for Toshiba it is a driver for Intel chipsets.

I've downloaded the attachment, tried everything I know, now it says my device is not configured correctly. I'm about to give up.

Check the Device Manager under: Sound, video and game controllers
Right click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager
First off are there any yellow exclamation or question marks?
Also: is there a line for: Conexant AMC 3D Enviromental Audio Driver?

There is a yellow ! next to multimedia control which is where I have the trouble. No line for Conexant AMC ...
