    mainboard signals

    does anyone know where I can find the sound signals the mainboard issues when something is missing or faulty.

    sounds like an ambulance siren, high,low note all the time also i think there is a shortcircut somewhere because when i put in the keyboard cable i got a mild shock

    has this just started to happen, have you removed or added any hardware?

    No its been going on for a while.

    have you tried a different keyboard?

    is the keyboard ps2 or USB?


    remove the keyboard turn it upside down and give it a shake sometimes dirt gets trapped under a key and keeps it pressed down.

    The siren sound is something pretty fundamental from what I recall. Wrong CPU settings I think (or maybe the RAM not being fitted properly).

    You shouldn't plug in a PS/2 keyboard whilst the PC is on. To get a small shock from doing that is quite normal. USB keyboards don't have the same problem because USB ports are designed to have devices connected and disconnected whilst the PC is running.
