If used by itself I don't see why not.
You might also try different slots.

Another Single/Dual aspect (not density) is single or dual channel.
If you have Dual Channel RAM it must be used in pairs.Support Single or Dual channel DDR 400/333/266 non-ECC memory up to 4GB
Do you have the manual for the motherboard? In general they will have very specific compatibility charts.
Thanks Jephree.
Yes, I have it manual... a few pages of it. Its supposed to be compatible with this memory.
See, I'm changing my RAM as I've sold the 512MB module and I only had a 256MB left in. I started receiving many BSoD's EVEN with a brand new XP install and new HDD. So I figured to test the RAM and yup:
@ Test 5 1503 errors had appeared
So I now have no RAM because the ones I bought as replacement, fully compatible as Crucial Memory scan also shows, are not working giving me the beeep showing an the compatibility error. Double sided ones work perfect but single sided don't.I have single sided only.
Before yesterday, I really didn't think there's any issue whatsoever with RAM modules having single or double sided chips.
Now I was in the middle of buying another one (the lady friend will sell it to the highest bidder on eBay if I don't tell her by 40 mins) but don't really know what to get in any way.
My mobo supports single and dual channel; as you rightly mentioned, yes.
I'm looking to buy a 1GM module but am not going to end up buying 2-3 RAM modules just to test them out and loose money!
Stumped.
BTW a bit too late but if your in the US, then happy Thanksgiving, for what its worth
I have to thank you for being awesome on this site too!!![]()

Updates: I've bought the RAM module from the friend, 1GB Corsair for £40.
Its hardly used, just tried on a PC thats all.
I hope this works out or I'm in deep loss again!
If you know, is this supposed to be a good price?![]()
