If you switch the PC on, does it start to run slowly as soon as you've got into Windows? If so, try pressing [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del] and running Task Manager. On the performance tab of Task Manager, you'll be able to see the processor and memory usage. Both of them should be well below 100% usage after it has finished loading Windows and all of the applications in your system tray down by the clock in the bottom-right corner. If the CPU or memory usage is higher than it should be, look on the processes tab and see which process is taking up these resources. The 'System idle' process should be at about 98% CPU time usage.
