computer takes several reboots to load!
well as the title says, my computer seems to take several retries to load up, the first few times it will get past the screen showing what hardware ur computer has and then the screen will go off as if on standby with the orange light on. the fans are still working, but the monitor is black.
Secondly if my computer does load up, when i play a game like cs:s or try and use a program it will turn off the screen with the orange light on and fans still going like when i attempt to start it up the first few times.
ive tried replacing the CMOS,PSU,CPU, the graphics card with an older one and the ram.
i replaced the graphics card, but it still came up with the rebooting issue, lookin in hindsight i should have checked if it loaded up and then crashed when using another program, as maybe these two problems are unrelated.
could it possibly be my graphics card overheating? that would explain it shuttting down when i attempt to play a game..
thanks for any help in advance

The graphics card would be a primary suspect but you say you have tried two with the same behavior?
Was the computer working OK previous to this? Is it a new problem?
Have you uninstalled and then installed the proper graphics drivers?
Can you boot into Safe Mode without problems?
Is anything overclocked in your BIOS?
Do you know if there is a BIOS upgrade for your motherboard?

i have tried a different graphics card, as i recently got a new graphics card ( a few months ago ), i kept my old one and tried it out. it came up with the same loading problem, but i didnt test it to see if it crashed when i successfully loaded and accessed my desktop and tried running a game.
this problem has occured for around 3 weeks, but the problem where it crashes when im running a program is fairly recent
i havnt tried reinstalling the graphics drivers yet - ill give it a go
most of the time when booting up it doesnt even give me the option to use any modes, but after some retries it will eventually come up with the options and every one of them comes up with the same crashing problem when running a game.
im pretty sure nothing is overclocked in my bios
i dont know if threre is a bios upgrade, as i dont even know how to upgrade it :O
my motherboard is a "GA-7VTX Series VIA KT266 AGPset" btw

if any of u have ever heard of "ventrillo" (a communication program)
whenever i have successfully logged into my desktop and load it up and press the speach button it immediately crashes..could this mean it might be a virus??

Your motherboard:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ctName=GA-7VTX
The last BIOS was 2002.
Just to verify: You cannot boot into Safe Mode?
Try booting into Safe Mode options:
After the power-on and BIOS POST or your Logo screen repeatedly tap the F8 key or hold the Ctrl key before Windows starts.
If you have changed graphics cards reloading the drivers is definitely necessary.
I would suspect a hardware issue here and not any virus. Perhaps a heat issue somewhere.
You can try a RAM test: http://www.memtest86.com/
Also ID the manufacturer of your hard drive and run the manufacturer's diagnostic from their web site.
What is listed in the Device Manager under Disk drives?
Right click My Computer then click Properties then Manage then Device Manager
