i have recently for no explainable reasons developed problems withmy atapi cd rewriter i was using roxio easy cd creator version 5.3.5.10 and for some reason i can no longer burn cd's (either audio or data) i thought it might be a roxio problem so i uninstalled roxio and got nero6 but its just the same whenever i try to burn a disc it goes thru the motions tells me its been successfully burned but when i try and read the disc i get a windows message telling me that windows cannot read the disc as its either corrupt or unreadable i have tried everything i can think of from unistalling drivers and re installing but to no avail if anyone can help i would be very gratefull as i'm at my wits end

Have you made sure that you have finallised the disk after writing the files on to it?

I am having this exact same problem and my cd-rw is also atapi. Whenever i have put a blank cd in, it either doesn't recognise the cd or if it does, it wont copy. Its not the cd because i have tried 3 or 4 different brands now and they all worked before so im not sure what i should do.

Giddy - try re-installing Roxio with the latest updates from the Roxio web site.

Maine - if you've tried a few different brands of blank CDs, try removing your CD burning software, reboot and then install it again. If that doesn't help, I would consider replacing the drive (they're very cheap now).
