I have just moved one of my pc's and the monitor - a second hand Dell is not working. There's power but no picture - have checked connections - all seems OK. At switch on monitor light goes on then flickers the way it does when the cpu is off.
any help appreciated

if all worked before the move, I'd check all the connections between the PC and the monitor

HELLO thanks for your very sensible answer. After I posted the problem I went back to the PC and - I'm ashamed to say that I'd put the monitor to the wrong connection! I'm ashamed of myself... as I'm a "seasoned user" and should never have made such a bloop. But, on the good side I did find these forums. (Maybe it was a senior moment?)
