I have a Toshiba satellite laptop. I died the other day and I took it back to Best Buy and they repaired it by replacing the Mother Board. I have a warranty. When I got it home I realized that the Shift key doesn't work properly. When you tap Shift you get a backslash and sometimes some lower case letters.

I called Best Buy and they told it to bring it back in. But if it is something simple I would prefer to fix it at home and save a trip.

Any ideas of how to correct this keyboard problem?

I would take it back and try it out there before leaving again.
