My Computers DVD Drive is showing up as CD Drive
After having my DVD burner for over a year without using it I finally decided to use it to burn a moviel. So when I tried to put in a blank DVD-R and burn an .iso file to it Nero said there was no blank DVD in the drive.
After that I figured it might have been a compatibilty issue and ran a scan of my hardware to make sure it could read DVD-R even though I was sure that it could read both +,-,RW and DL DVDs. The scan showed that it could read +,-,RW and DL so I tried putting in a DVD to see if it would play and it wouldn't.
I tried going to the PRODUCT HELP PAGE for my computer and I don't see and driver updates for my DVD Drive and the only DRIVER that comes close since it has the 4164B ID won't work on my computer because I need an A: drive (which they should know doesn't since it comes stock without one) or I have to burn it to cd which I tried and doesn't seem to work.
After doing numerous google searches that didn't turn up anything I decided to post this hoping someone could help so I don't have call tech support and having to talk to some outsourced employee who's just going to tell me that my warrenty is expired and to just replace the drive. Here's a copy of the DVD info if it helps.

And here are my systems specs if it helps out any

I probably should have put this info earlier but I was in a rush but here's the stuff I tried so far
- Using canned air to blow out the drive
- Unistalling all virtual drives and burning software that was not originally on the system
- Updating the driver (check original post for more info about that)
- Install driver that was included in my "Help and Support Center" program that came installed on the system (although it only installs the DVD ROM driver and when I try to install the "DVD+RW/+R (dvd writer)" driver it says "Unable to run the test. Device not found on the system")
