PC doesn't switch on at all!!!

I am kazna3's daughter posting under his ID. He left the computer on, signed in under this section. :P I am above 10 don't worry.
I have a PC that is from a highstore and it is hardly used but a year ago it just stopped coming on!
So when you push in the button for power on, it doesn't make a difference.

I'm suspecting this is definitely the power supply unit... but how can I be sure?

Please help ASAP as my dad (kazna3) is giving it away to some computer tech who says he needs it for some parts tomorrow evening! I think theres nothing other wrong with it at all so I don't want to give it away! It has all my work on it and other personal stuff.

    Thank you

If there is no indication of power at all e.g. fans; LED's: etc. then some aspect of the power supply and or cord is suspect.

You can always remove the hard drive to save your data.

Ok now. I see what my daughter did. I'll explain.

As far as I see it, there's nothing to keep the desktop but daughter really would like to keep it although its a 995Mhz Intel Celeron & the fact that its difficult to work with seeing its tiny size and oldness.

Yes nothing switches on, and I've checked the wirings/cords/cables before - it was brand new. Its the power supply at 230 that is most at suspect to me.

But due to the absolute tiny size I haven't been able to fit in a 300 PSU in the same space.

    Thanks for the reply Jephree.
