i got a presario 2518AT laptop, which is a celeron <2GHz.
for the last year, my fan was making abnormally loud noises, and the laptop used to heat up when i used to work on it.

now the fan has stopped entirely, resulting in the power cord contact getting warped and thus my power supply to the laptop is very dicey.

should i simply by a new laptop or replace the fan+ power cord.
