I have 2 near-new Compaq Presario V3000 notebooks. Both worked fine for a while but now both will not run on battery at all. Battery meter shows 100% but system shuts down as soon as AC power removed. Can this be a complete battery failure, or is there some software issue? Have tried online HP/Compaq diagnostics but all checks out OK.
