In certain games that use 3D Sounds, the sounds are very dull. I.e in Hitman 4 the gun shots come out as a quiet thud. I was wondering whats causing this? I'm using an on-board sound card, I've got the latest driver. Could the problem be the sound card on the MOBO? Thanks.

If other sounds are OK, I would think the dull sounds are caused by sound settings within the game options. What sound device (chip) is on the motherboard?

I figured it out. I disabed EAX and that solved it. Thanks anyway Danny.
