My D drive is a Sony CRX225E.

msconfig has been set to only run MS basic processes and virus scans at startup.

My 3 anti-virus products are all current and give me a 100% clean blessing.

I have uninstalled the drive and controller and had it successfully re-install.

All hardware properties are set to defaults.

D can play cd-rom software and cd-r photo discs burned on other people's computers.

However, the computer locks up 2-3 seconds after closing the drawer whenever it
has a blank cd-r or store bought music cd-rom.

Sony tech support is not getting back to me.

why are you running 3 anti virus programmes?

have you tried a lens cleaner?
