    Dimension 2400

I got a couple of computers, and now my gf are currently using an Dimension 2400, dell computer. I wanted to install a new processor in it, i have both an Pentium 4 Processor 650. (3.4ghz) and a Amd Sempron.

But i have two problems. Im not shure what socket her Dell is using, and when i opened it seemed that none of my processors would fit. I know the Amd has socket 754, but not shure about the Pent.4.

Need some guidance about how i make anyone of theese work in her comp, or witch other processor that would suit it.

    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

please go here download belarc advisor and run, it should give you lots of details about your PC

increasing RAM will do just as well

Have fixed the Ram, but need more "speed".

But what does that program do? Does it just give me info? Becouse i need to know if my two processors match with the Dell comp.

the programme will tell you the motherboard and what CPU is being used

will the BIOS take a faster chip?

if you download the belarc advisor it will tell you what processor you have, I doubt you'll be able to do much with it apart from putting in more RAM

the machine will take a maximum of 2GB

    this is the machine
