I want to partition my hard drive to give me some storage space. I found a tutorial on format and partitioning using fdisk but im a bit confused. My drive already had a primary partition which is 100%. So i deleted this partition and followed the instructions. I have set a 75% primary partition and activated it. I went to create an extended partition for the remaining 25% this is where im confused. The display partition information shows c: 30gb then an unlabled 10gb below, but when asked to show logical partition it shows d: 10gb.

Thinking this was right i proceeded to format but the format command says its about to format c: but the full 40gb

have i gone obviously wrong somewhere or am i confusing you aswell
