hi , im have trouble getting any audio output from my pc, im using an asus a8n sli premium.
ive checked the bios, drivers, device manager, wiring, connections, ive tried different sets of speakers and headphones but no joy.
Could anyone offer a salution ?

Sounds like you've covered all the bases. If you're using the onboard sound, and it's enabled in the bios, with known good drivers, cables etc, you should have sound. Could be the onboard chip(s) for the sound have "gone south". Do you have access to a add-in PCI sound card you can put in a mobo slot and try?
