Question Radeon 9700 PRO constantly crashing my PC

Okay, I REALLY hope someone can help me here. I purchased a Radeon 9700 PRO back in January and after it just kept crashing my system, I finally removed it. I installed all the latest drivers and I've even tried the Omega drivers with no luck whatsoever. I can be playing a game, chatting, or editing a photo and my screen will freeze and then go blank and even though I have no picture, I can still hear the in game sounds and such. My question is, have I purchased a dead video card? I've done everything I know to get this thing to work properly and I'd like one last opinion before I throw a $150 card in the trash. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have any problem with your old card?

If the new card is faulty there should still be a warranty.

I'm using my old card right now as the Radeon 9700 will just crash my system. And no, I have no warranty on the card.

Where did you get the card?

Most manufacturer's have a one year warranty on everything.

Well, I bought it from a different company which didn't offer a warranty. I guess I'm pretty much screwed, eh?
