    Multiple Monitor Confusion

    Hi,

I'm having digital TV installed in my study, it will be connected to a LCD TFT, so I've already got the Scart->VGA lead ready. My question is, can I link the TFT to both the TV digibox as well as my computer at the same time?

My computer is already attached to a CRT via one of the two ports on my graphics card.

Basically my aim is to be able to watch digital television on the TFT and use the computer with my CRT. But I also want the option to use both screens for my computer if I want, without having to fiddle about reconnecting the VGA leads.

I've seen VGA splitter leads for sale, which are 2 female ends and 1 male end. Is this what I need? And if it is, how will the TFT monitor know which signal to show, (the digibox or the computer) ?

I hope all this makes sense!! Thanks for any advice,
    Alz0r

is that what you meen? if it is, then kind of... you need 1 female and 2 male which i dont think is available. However, what you are trying to do IS possible, you will need a splitter (like the one in the picture), 2 male-male gender changers and one female-female gender changer, i think this is the easyest and cheapest option. This method automaticaly switches from one to thge other when you do (i.e you turn a computer off and digibox on, the monitor will display what is on the digi box)

these are the female-female changers: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...hanger&doy=2m9

the male ones are discontinued but you should be able to get them elsewhere..

I am getting a little confused with too much thinking... what is on the vga end of your adaptor? is it a male plug or female?
