Unhappy Video Card or Processor Problem?

Several weeks ago, when i was playing battlefront 2, my computer suddenly restarted for no reason. I restarted it, and it happened again, during battlefront 1. The third time, it said that there was an error, and asking if i wanted to send an error report. I did, and the solutions were said to be download the latest driver, or manually decrease the graphic acceleration. I downloaed the new driver, and during the Halo trial, it just froze up. I tried decreasing it, however, even with it all the way down, it still crashed. I tried putting in antoher older video card, but there were still problems. the taskbar would be blue on startup, and other small things, untill the computer started restarting again. Now, i cannot even start my computer. It will turn on, however, the screen remains blinking as if it is not, and after several seconds, the computer turns itself off. Could this be a processor, video card, or motherboard problem? I have a pentium 4 processor, purchased 2 summers ago, the original video card was an ATI 5700, and i have one fan for temperature control abovce the processor. i cannot run a system check, for obvious reasons, however, in the past, i have not had any heat problems. Anyone want to venture a guess as to what my problem is? i would be very happy if i could solve this, so i could get back to my gaming.
P.S.My computer was made by me, it is not a dell or anything like that.
