dvd/cd don't work
Hi there
I have just bought a new computer. I tried to copy a dvd but it says I need some sort of software to enable drive allocation. Could someone enlighten me please. Also I live in Spain but can'y get this keyboard to a normal setout. I am running on XP Home and the keyboard is a wireless Logitech. I have been through regional settings etc and everything says it should be in English but the keys still don't tally up.
I'd be grateful for any help at all
Thanks

What is the exact keyboard behavior that is not right?
You will notice several English options under Regional Settings.
Are you looking for UK English or US English or ... ?
XP does not have built in DVD burning nor reading software. You need a third party application.
Here is just a quick Google:

Have now sorted the keyboard. I was being very thick and set it to English, I bought it in Spain and now have set it to Spanish and it works perfectly. Thanks for your help. I still need to sort the dvd out though

You need to choose a software program for your needs.
You will see in my previous link that there are some free ones but also remember the adage: you get what you pay for.
Many people recommend WinDVD. Some versions just playback and others add burning options.
Nero and Ulead are two other major companies.

Thanks, is this software to do with DLA? I have copying software through a program by Sonic but it says I need DLA, Something to do with naming the drives or something. Not really sure what to download

What is your exact Sonic software?
What is the verbatim error message?

I have sonic digital media home. The error says that it can´t find a video display. Sonics help says that you must download drive letter allocation software because the software doesn´t recognise dvd. I can play them but when it comes to recording it labels both drives as E:
I have since downloaded 1 click copy dvd and can record. I think sonic must just be naff software
