    Poor running graphics

    Hi
Can anyone help me with this little problem.
My pc runs slow when playing games.

It runs ok when using internet.
Could it be because im running 512 ddr ram & a 128mb graphics card.
Should i be using a ddr graphics card.
I have tried turning down the settings on games to minimum graphics but it still runs slow & juddering.

    Please help
    Tym

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Could you play these games before?

Do you have any problems outside of games?

What games are we talking about?

Also please post back this scan result:

Did you do a Clean Install of XP onto the new motherboard?

Did you uninstall and reinstall the ATI drivers?

Also according to that scan XP is only detecting 1/2 of your RAM.

You can verify this by Right clicking My Computer then clicking Properties.

How much RAM is shown here?

A reinstall of XP is necessary on a new motherboard.

You could either run a Repair or Clean install.

A Clean Install would be advisable for best performance.

I would follow one of two routes now. Either run the hardware scan again and check whether the amount of RAM being reported to the motherboard is still showing as 1024MB when you only have 512MB RAM fitted or, alternatively, open the PC case and remove one of the RAM modules if two are fitted.

It might not be the cause of the problem but it's best to remove any inexplicable weirdness before delving further into troubleshooting!

    Let us know the outcome

No its still reporting 1024mb ram. I only have 1 memory stick in pc.
A friend of mine told me that it could be the graphics card as its an older card & old than motherboard. Is this true?
