hey i'm having problems burning data dvd's. i hav bought a packet of 8.5gb TDK double layer disks and i want to use them to back up all my folders and what not except my dvd drive can't read the disks. i am using the program record now,it came with the computer.i have a HP pavilion t580a and the cd/dvd drive is 400a. i have tried looking for firmware on the HP site and there is nothing for my drive. if anyone as any ideas on how i can fix this it would be much appreciated

The simplest possibility is that your drive does not support that media.

HP does not offer much on details.

Have you been able to burn other types of DVD's?
