Alright, well i just got a new processor, and i installed it and i went to turn it on, and it wouldnt turn on. it would only get jolts of power but never fully turn on. Does this mean the processor is defective or did i do something wrong?

Oh yea and i checked all the other hook ups

Are you sure that the CPU is compatible with the motherboard?

Are you sure that it is installed (oriented) correctly?

Does the old CPU still work OK?

What is the make and model of the motherboard and also the CPU?

What exactly do you mean by: jolts of power?
